how we started
(k)nightingale studios took its first steps in 2022 when founder kenzie jepperson began building a vision for an independent film production company. one rooted in a singular core value — authentic human connection. after months of late nights and bottles of wine shared with their friend, woody brook, the two had a list of ideas for stories they wanted to tell.
that first year, they started bringing those ideas to life. first through screenplays written and rewritten, then with zero budget short films thrown together with friends in utah over weekends off their day jobs.
kenzie moved to new york one year later and her vision for (k)nightingale only grew. she began a creative partnership with musicians, elevating their music video releases with thought-provoking metaphors and sweeping visuals.
which brings us to the fall of 2024 when kenzie turned back to that list of old ideas and found one that turned a new page…

how we’re doing
we’ve released out FIVE music videos and ONE DEBUT ALBUM with independent musicians.
we have lead produced of FIVE short films, three in post-production, one moving into production Summer 2026, and one releasing in the FALL OF 2026.
we’ve released an ORIGINAL MOTION PICTURE SOUNDTRACK.
we have lead produced a WEB SERIES PILOT and are developing the series in full with plenty more stories preparing to join our slate.

meet the team
kenzie jepperson (she/they) | executive producer and founder
Kenzie is a director, producer, and writer based in upper manhattan. From a very young age, they had a desire to tell stories. She received her BFA in acting from Brigham Young University in 2019 and immediately felt inspired to lean into her experiences as a queer ex-Mormon as she began to fall deeper in love with the creative process of filmmaking.
Kenzie’s innate love of detail-oriented spreadsheets has not only helped (k)nightingale studios thrive, but has also allowed them to excel as a skilled UPM, Line Producer, and 1st Assistant Director. They feel a burning calling to push the boundaries of what filmmaking can and should be while telling stories that explore the deepest layers of humanity and self-discovery.
sasha fazulyanov (she/her) | producer
Sasha is an actor, writer, and producer based in Manhattan. She loves people — where they live, their routines, their relationships, the food they eat, etc. She loves walking around the city at that special time of night where you can look into people’s apartments and see glimpses of their lives (not in a stalker way, in a cool and curious way).
In addition to filmmaking, she runs a zine called Effemera with her sisters. Effemera’s mission is to preserve the short-lived moments of life. This love of life and people is what fuels her passion for filmmaking and storytelling.
